How much caviar per guest?

A few guidelines to estimate the right amount of caviar for your event, from a standing cocktail party to an intimate dinner.

Caviar blini presented on a black napkin

It is often the first question we are asked. The answer depends less on the number of guests than on the place you want caviar to take: a gesture served in passing, or a true tasting moment.

A gesture among your guests

At a cocktail party or a wedding, our Caviar Passing offers one or two spoonfuls per guest, served on the back of the hand or on a blini. As a rough guide, allow around ten grams per person.

A tasting around the table

For a Private Tasting, caviar becomes the heart of the moment. Plan a more generous amount, around thirty grams per person, to discover both the Baeri and the Oscietra.

The Caviar Cart, throughout the evening

With the cart, guests happily come back for more. The quantity is then planned for the length of the evening rather than per guest.

Better the right amount, freshly opened, than an abundance left waiting.

What changes the quantity

  • The moment: as an aperitif, a starter or throughout the evening.
  • The length of your event.
  • The rest of the menu: caviar on its own, or alongside other dishes.

Every tin is opened on site and never reused once started. We always bring a little extra stock, and each additional tin opened is charged individually.
